2019 examug – Thinking about Security!

Happy New Year! It’s 2019, and that sounds like the future!!

We have another great examug meeting planned for next week, with two great presentations.

We are kicking off 2019 with an extended review on Security. We will go over and update our previous advice on general online/tech safety: including passwords, password mangers, 2FA, paying for items online and accessing unknown WiFi. Followed by a closer look at browsing safely: looking at safari settings, the green padlock, certificates and warnings, etc. And finally, we want to open up the presentation to answer any questions from members about best practice, and any good tips and hints from the floor.

After the break we are offering a deeper dive into our iOS App of the week. We are going to show you four great iOS apps for iPhone or iPad that will hopefully make your lives easier! No hints, but we promise they are going to be great, and that there will be at least one you’ve not come cross before.

It’s going be our usual mix of accessible presentation and chat.  It will be suitable for all, from the most techie to the newbie, and we guarantee you’ll learn something new.

Don’t forget the examug Raffle too. We have a great set prizes, including some new Apple merchandise, and some other treats.

Date: Tuesday 8 January
